I'll be dog gone if it didn't go and do it!

Pouring over my meticulously prepared charts of ascending triangles with some of my lunch compatriarts Dale, George and Mark (at the famous Foley Coffee Shop) I noticed their eyes begin to glaze over like Krispy Kreme dough nuts. This is a sight I'm very familiar with as I've seen many, many Krispy Kreme dough nuts in my life. And I can most certainly testify that the boys at my table have as well, especially Dale! Disturbed at their waning interest in the most high calling of chart reading, I pointed out that most of my readers were very sophisticated and would be foaming at the mouth at the bullish potential of such a chart as I had presented to them. Mark then asked if anyone at the table had ever actually witnessed a sophisticated person foaming at the mouth. Dale remembered his mother in law foaming at the mouth once but could not remember why. We all agreed that probably shouldn't count.  Not wanting to let it go, I suggested a breakout over 1291 in S&P that held would be very bullish. I pointed out that if they had read my blog I wouldn't have to go over mundane points like that and could spend more time on my fries. About this time another one of "the gang" showed up and began to ramble about something I'm sure was insignificant....and I'd lost my audience. Finishing up quickly I headed back to the office to see what would happen and dog gone if it didn't go and do it! It closed above 1291. Now what. Well first, the volume was NOT heavy. This increases the chances of an immediate failure Monday. Watch Mondays open very closely. Volume COULD accelerate at the open and take this pattern upward towards it's completion.  If it doesn't, watch out. My guess is that it'll succeed to the upside target though, which is 1349. The QQQQ has been in an activated ascending triangle pattern for a couple of days now. That's what's helped it move higher. It's close to hitting it's target. Another 1% or so may do it. So that's the story. Now I think I'll head home and take my beautiful wife to dinner. You know...I think I have a Krispy Kreme gift card stuck in a drawer at home. Hmmmmm.
