Is GE sending a message?
I mentioned last night about the HGX and its relative weakness. Today another under performer jumped off the screen at me....GE.
GE is a large diversified multi-national corporation that is normally a pretty good barometer for the overall economy. Being that's the case, what's it saying now??
You'll need to look at the chart for yourself, but it's pretty clear. GE is lagging the overall market. Not only is it lagging but it now appears to be rolling back over.
The 20 day ema just crossed back down through the 50 day ema while both are below the 200 day. That's not a guarantee of a future decline but it's certainly bearish action.
The question is if GE really rolls over, will the broad market follow? Tonight as we watch the super light volume gyrations in the markets, it's just one more thing to consider.
Before I go, I should say to not trust any move the market makes in this light volume this week. The possibility is high that most any move will be reversed, especially gap openings regardless of the direction.
